Come, Let Us Adore Him

To adore Him means to “love, worship, esteem, respect, admire, stuck on to, be passionate about, be mad about” Him. He is the best and the most faithful companion ever. A friend who is available now and always will be for us.

In less than four days, that time of the year for gift-buying, gift-wrapping, and gift-exchanging will end. So, all the glittering Christmas decorations including elaborate lightings, in most cultures, will be gone, at least for this year. And life will continue as usual.

Dear reader, stop and think! Need not we be sad if during this period we did not bring any gift to Jesus Christ, the reason for the Christmas? Look up at the account of the wise men in Matthew 2:1-12 and see the gifts they brought Him on that eventful and historic night - Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh – gifts of great significance. Gold symbolizing His royalty, Frankincense, the aroma of His endless worth, His sinless divinity and the fragrance of closeness in worship of Him; and Myrrh, which signifies His death, and yet durability.

The wise men knew who Jesus was - a king, and fully God – their God. Thus, they worshipped the infant child. Many years past, Isaiah the prophet had declared For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 Who is Jesus Christ to you?

If you yet have not given Him a gift, I have a good suggestion: He owns all things and created all things. King David said of Him: For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering” Psalms 51:16. So, Come, Let Us Adore Him.  He alone sustains our lives. When we are lonely and deserted, He is most reliable and trustworthy. All that we are today and ever will be we owe them all to Him. He is our truest and best friend. Come, Let Us Adore Him.  He loves us at all times and does not second guess whether or not to bless us. He has forever settled our account of sins with God and has in the sacrifice of His holy life covered with His blood all our sins, past, present and future. Thus, we have a future in heaven on His account. Not because of our worth, but purely for His love. Come, Let Us Adore Him.    Let us adore Jesus Christ our Lord, who bountifully loads us daily with good things including protection, security, and life itself.

To adore Him means to “love, worship, esteem, respect, admire, stuck on to, be passionate about, be mad about” Him. He is the best and the most faithful companion ever. A friend who is available now and always will be for us. But dear Reader, stop and think!. We can not adore someone that we do not know. So, if you do not know Jesus Christ, it is impossible for you to adore Him. Today, reflect on this: Jesus came into this world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15 . Whosoever comes to Him, be you poor, rich, sinner or saint, there is room in Him for you. Everyone including you can give Him a gift. You can give Him a place and time in your life today. Thus, this year’s Christmas would have meant so much for you and much more to Jesus Christ who so dearly loves you. Be blessed.
