“And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD. For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there” 1 Samuel 1: 26-28
This year, the Mothers' Day celebration falls within the Pentecost Sunday. This is unique in many ways. First, for Christians, it is reminiscent of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on 120 worshippers at
Evidence abounds all through the Scripture of women who excelled most notably when they allowed God to have His way with them. One example of such women was Hannah. She was not dissuaded by the external contradictions that weighed heavily against her faith. Her confidence in the sovereignty of God and her steadfastness earned her a giant place in the Scriptural Hall of Fame. God still is rewarding implicit faith in Him. Stop and think! The previously barren Hannah, who almost had been written off by her society, because of faith in God, later became the mother of Israel’s judge and the prophet of the most high God
Today, we in our church pray God's abundant blessings on women every where, and great anointing on women of God who daily are striving to do God's will in this wicked and sin-sick world.
