A special Mothers' Day Greeting

Posted on Sun, May 11, 2008

“And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD. For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there” 1 Samuel 1: 26-28

This year, the Mothers' Day celebration falls within the Pentecost Sunday. This is unique in many ways. First, for Christians, it is reminiscent  of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on 120 worshippers at Jerusalem. This resulted in supernatural anointing with which great things were accomplished for God. Second, it should remind our   women every where that God’s power is ever- available. Therefore, they can equally draw or continue to draw  from His strength to perform any exploits for God..

Evidence abounds all through the Scripture of women who excelled most notably when  they allowed God to have His way with them. One example of such women was Hannah. She was not dissuaded by the  external contradictions that weighed heavily against her faith. Her  confidence  in the sovereignty of God and her steadfastness earned her a giant place in the Scriptural Hall of Fame. God still is rewarding implicit faith in Him. Stop and think! The previously  barren Hannah, who  almost had been written off by her society, because of faith in God, later became the mother of Israel’s judge and the prophet of the most  high God

Today, we in our church pray God's abundant blessings on women every where, and great anointing on women of God who daily are striving to do God's will in this   wicked and sin-sick world.

 HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!
