Thus, do not relent in prayer, in songs, in praises, in worship and in adoration of God’s power and sovereignty. He is the Comforter. He will strengthen you to face and contain the fury of the storm and abide with you until the storms are over.
Today, I am bringing the second part of my reproduced article on “Living above our daily hurdle”.
In the first article, we saw that problems are unavoidable but certain aspects of our daily living. Sometimes, we have no clues when they will strike, but we must grapple with the pains, sorrows, regrets, and anger with which they are associated.
We learned that to stand tall above life’s problems, we must realize that God, who is the lord of all creation, supremely loves us; and we live at his pleasure. He is always there, and is bigger than all problems. When trouble strikes, therefore, it is not time for self pity or blames. Instead, we must hand the problem and ourselves over to God for whom we live. We must learn to humbly “count it all joy” that he has allowed it for the purpose that we might instantly not be aware. Then, patiently, we should expect his will to be manifested in the problem. We exist for God’s glory.
Dear Reader, when in trial, do not succumb to the thought that you are a failure, or that you are in the trial because you are a sinner. Clearly, understand that you are the apple of God’s eyes “who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able”. Therefore, abandon your will, your life and “ALL” on God’s power.
When Hezekiah received a letter threatening his kingdom, he prayed and sought help from God.
“And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD…And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD….” Isaiah 37:14-15
Thus, do not relent in prayer, in songs, in praises, in worship and in adoration of God’s power and sovereignty. He is the Comforter. He will strengthen you to face and contain the fury of the storm and abide with you until the storms are over. Turn to God for help and allow him a total control of the hurdles. He will send you indescribable and reassuring peace to fill your heart amidst all life's hurdles when you allow him. The following song by Herbert Buffum: (http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/h/e/a/heabides.htm) so succinctly expresses the role of the Holy Spirit in effecting this peace.
“He is with me everywhere,
And He knows my ev’ry care;
I’m as happy as a bird and just as free.
For the Spirit has control;
Jesus satisfies my soul,
Since the Comforter abides with me”
