They deserve our loudest praise and deepest appreciation.
As we celebrate “Mother’s Day” today, we in Christ Disciples International Ministries are thankful and joyously grateful to God for the contributions our mothers have made in our lives. Today, we SALUTE the mothers in our lives and all mothers’ everywhere. May our bounteous God bless all our mothers today and always in the name of Jesus Christ.
But how can we reward the mothers in our lives? I believe with love. Stop and think! Love is their greatest characteristic. In our infancy, for instance, be it night or day, sleeping or waking moments, our mothers’ love for us never seized. When we dangerously explored our surroundings, think of our infantile ignorance and the intervening strength of our mothers, which spared us from permanent injuries. I know and have read about other instances when mothers had risked their lives to care and provide for their children. Should we not reciprocate our mothers’ love? Good children, certainly, should reward their mothers.
They deserve our loudest praise and deepest appreciation. Still, is there a mother who would be unappreciative that her child is godly and is living soberly in this world? What reward can we give to our mothers that is greater than to lead a godly life, which is devoid of shame? Every mother will be eternally fulfilled when her child is godly, because “Godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8. Make the decision today to be godly if you are not “while we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” Titus 2:13 . Your mother and you will be infinitely happy for it; and God our father will be ultimately satisfied. Emaeyak Ekanem
