The Miracle of Salvation from Sins

Posted on Thu, Jun 25, 2009

God tells us not to sin. “But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One”. 1 John 2:1 When we confess our sins, little or huge, Jesus Christ who has forever settled our sins’ issues with God on our behalf is able and willing to forgive us those sins. 1 John 1:9

A few days ago, I visited a friend with three other relatives. Prior to that visit, the friend knew my past and was aware of a few of my much sinful life before I rededicated my life fully to Jesus Christ. We spoke extensively about many issues, but my friend could not imagine how I could be loathing so many sins that I had previously enjoyed. He described them as normal and unavoidable “in this day and age”. He could not understand what had happened in my life!

Salvation from sin is a miracle. God will not consult any one to forgive you, and he can forgive you happily and freely. But we must first accept that we all have sinned and be willing to ask to be forgiven. Romans 3:23  It does not matter how little our transgression, whether or not it is acceptable to the society or have become a norm for us. Any transgression of the law of God is sinful. It is wrong. Sin breaks the law of God, separates us from and robs us of fellowship with God. If unconfessed, sin leads to our eternal destruction.

1 John 1:9

But we must be sincere and ask God in the name of Jesus to forgive us. I tell you from my experience, He will forgive you and give you a new beginning, regardless of your past if you are serious with him. This is what God who cannot lie says: “I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." Hebrews 8:12

In Christ Jesus, your sins are now covered. You will exchange them with God's blessings and be adopted into God's eternal family as his son or daughter. He says “Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.” Psalms 32:1.  This is what God says about you, who before, was lost in trespasses and sins.  So you are no longer a slave (to sins), but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Galatians 4:6-7

This is the miracle of salvation that anyone who can simply ask God will receive. I have asked and received mine. This is your chance dear reader. Please do not let it slip, no matter how foul you think you may be. Ask and it will be given to you. Emaeyak Ekanem
