Computer operators
Duties:
They will provide hands-on computer tutorials to seniors to assist them overcome their perceived hurdles to computer literacy and, thus, empower them to acquire basic computer skills and be positioned to participate in and gain from the global super information industry.
Handymen - carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, etc.
Duties: They will assist in light cleaning, painting and set-up of our programs new activities' space - Needed all through the months of March through June 2013.
Service Volunteers –
Duties: They will help to pick up, load and off-load goods such as computers and furniture; as well, they will receive, package and distribute foods to the community. Should be pleasant, able to stand long hours and lift food boxes of a maximum of 30-50 lbs. Residents of Bedford Park, Fordham, Jerome Park, Kingsbridge Heights, Mosholu, Norwood and University Heights in the Bronx are preferred. We have daily and on-going need of volunteers in this unit - Monday through Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturday 10:00am through 2:00 pm.
Our mission is to provide supportive services to the under-served, particularly, youths and needy families in the Bronx so as to empower them physically and spiritually to live their dreams and engage in helpful activities to themselves and the society.
Our activities’ areas include: Spiritual enrichment, Education and Youth Leadership, Environment and Community Health and Wellness Outreach, Food and Nutrition, including Immigration and Citizenship
